A Brief History of Green's Art Supplies

          On August 1st, 1960, John R. and Aliene Green opened a new business in Lenlock called the Lenlock Hobby Shop.  It wasn't but just a few days later that they hired Lynn Martin (present owner) to come and work for them.  Lynn gladly joined the small, family-owed business and his journey began.

          One of the first milestones in young Lynn's career with the Green's Lenlock Hobby Shop was his very first paycheck.  On August 24th, 1960, he received his first check in the amount of $3.75.

          It wasn't until four years later that Lenlock Hobby Shop began custom framing for pictures.  This is now one of the areas that Green's Art Supplies specializes in.

          In 1967 Lenlock Hobby Shop relocated to its present destination at 1411 Wilmer Avenue in Anniston.  Along with this new move the business changed it's name to Green's Art Supplies.

          Today, Lynn and all the folks at Green's Art Supplies gladly serve this community with quality framing, matting; with an in-store supply of fine art tools and necessities and coming soon an online catalogue where you can order supplies online; and finally, Green's Art Supplies has in stock a number of prints from local and nationally known such as Daniel Moore.  You can visit our Gallery Page to view the Daniel Moore prints that we do have available.
